Moodle Plugins Review 2 – the YUI Menu

One of the things lacking in Moodle according to some people I’ve heard from is the lack of the predictable, sitting on the left of the screen, menu of all items in a Moodle course. Sure, there are plenty of other things that can tell you where you are in a Moodle course, but wouldn’t it be nice if there was a neat little menu in that top left hand corner like in every other website since 1995…

The YUI Menu does just this, by providing a flexible block that can be added to a Moodle course, providing not only a neat tree structure that dynamically populates itself based on the content of your course, but also provides a range of other dynamic links that can be added as well. The following video gives an overview of the functions that the YUI block provides. Enjoy!
